Norongoro Crater is a National Wildlife Park in Tanzania. The Crater, which formed when a giant volcano exploded and then later collapsed into itself, is 2,001 ft
(610 m) deep and its floor covers 102 square miles (260 km).

Some estimates of the height of the original volcano range from fifteen to nineteen thousand feet (4500 to 5800 metres) high. Ngorongoro is home for a wide variety of migratory birds, including flamingo, and the Long-crested Eagle.

It boasts the largest concentration of the Big Five in Africa. We saw the largest herds of Zebra and Wildabeest we have seen. The only exception being the Serengeti Plains migration.

We were at Ngorongoro Crater for two days, leaving there for the wildlife reserve of Lake Manyara.

Lake Manyara is a rather shallow freshwater lake in Tanzania. It is home to a diverse landscape and an abundance of wildlife.

The name, "Manyara" comes from the Maasai word emanyara, which is their name for a species of plant that is grown into a fence-like hedge around a family homestead.
